Beeswax-Paper-Foil Capacitors

Jupiter Condenser Co. Beeswax-Paper-Foil capacitors are a large plate area cap specifically designed for audio applications. Each capacitor is precision wound of the finest USA materials and is carefully constructed entirely by expert hands.
We believe the dielectric is the first area to be addressed in capacitor manufacture. Since the early 1900's to the late 1940's paper capacitor research was focused in the area of dielectrics, there was no mention to foils. Paper formulation and it's handling were key, though impregnants were considered fundamental and anti-oxidant characteristics of impregnants were prized. Thus we began our research on improving impregnants first, then improving the properties of the paper itself. Beeswax naturally contains small amounts of propolis, which is a very powerful anti-oxidant, which protects paper and foil from oxidation and degradation.
Achieved results of the Beeswax-Paper-Foil are a reliable paper capacitor, with the warm tone and richness characteristic of paper capacitors, yet has greater clarity, detail, clarity, and sweetness. Attention paid to all details makes this a special product.

Features:

Hand soldered leads with lead free solders.
Extended foil construction, soldered across foils for lowest inductance.
Very low inductance.
Precision winding machines: wound even and uniform with precise tension
Greater low-level charge and discharge due to large plate area.
Anti-MDI: No plastics are used in construction.

Application Notes:

* For best results keep capacitors as cool as possible, use common sense. Do not place next to or touching hot resistors or under-chassis signal tubes that get hot etc.. This is good practice to follow with any capacitors, especially paper capacitors. Generally for every 10 degree C increase, component life is diminished by half.

Again, do not place in close proximity of hot resistors, hot tubes, or anything else that gets hot.

Cautions when using in a pentode circuit: The higher the grid resistance used, the greater the reduction of the insulation resistance will occur.

Do not use in power supplies.

Test Results
Series Resonance:
Again series resonance is at 1.07 Mhz.
The capacitance is stable well beyon
the audio region (about 200 KHz.)

Impedance Versus Frequency:
Jupiter Beeswax Cap 0.22uF @ 600Volt
The null at 56.8 miliohms at 1.07 MHz is
due to the series resonance of the capacitance
with the lead inductance (2 leads of about
2 inches is 100nH.) Very good performance
